Your complete guide to fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum Wellness: Lessons from the WeNatal Masterclass

Ronit Menashe and Vida Delrahim on set for WeNatal Masterclass - WeNatal prenatal

Pregnancy doesn’t begin with a positive test, it begins long before. We call this “Trimester Zero,”  or the months of preparation that shape fertility, pregnancy, and even the long-term health of your future baby.

The
WeNatal Masterclass brings together eleven trusted doctors, nutritionists, and wellness experts to share the latest science and timeless wisdom for every stage of parenthood: preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum.

Whether you’re just starting to think about growing your family or are in the thick of postpartum recovery, this series is designed to help you feel informed, confident, and connected to your body at every step.

Pre-pregnancy: The power of preparation

Fertility isn’t a finish line; it’s a foundation.

Holistic pediatrician
Dr. Elisa Song calls the months before conception “the most powerful opportunity to influence your baby’s lifelong health.” She explains how your nutrition, microbiome, and stress levels all help shape your future child’s brain, immune system, and resilience.

Dr. Ariel Moradzadeh
, a reproductive urologist, reminds us that fertility is a team effort. Men create new sperm every 72 days, meaning lifestyle changes like eating nutrient-rich foods, sleeping better, and limiting alcohol, can dramatically improve sperm health within months. “With just three months of clean living, sperm quality can completely transform,” he says.

On the nutrition front,
Brigid Titgemeier, MS, RDN brings the science home to your plate: “What stains your cutting board nourishes your body.” Her advice? Fill your meals with colorful plants, omega-3s, folate, choline, and vitamin D to protect egg and sperm health and reduce inflammation.

Then there’s the emotional groundwork.
Lillian Cohanzad, author of The WeNatal Journal, believes mindset is medicine. “Gratitude is a vitamin,” she says. “When your body feels safe, conception becomes possible.”

And for biohacker
Aggie Lal, the biggest lesson came from slowing down. “Pregnancy is the biggest marathon of your life,” she says. “You don’t sprint into it, you train for it.”

Preconception is the season of preparation. Every small step from better sleep, cleaner food, and mindful movement, creates the foundation for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Pregnancy: Nourishing two generations

Pregnancy is often treated as a checklist: doctor’s visits, ultrasounds, lab tests. But the WeNatal Masterclass reframes it as a partnership between mother and baby.

OB-GYN
Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz explains that even during pregnancy, your hormones are still communicating with you. “Your hormones are in dialogue, guiding every physical and emotional change,” she says. “When you understand your body’s signals, you move from fear to trust.”

Functional medicine expert
Dr. Elisa Song adds that every choice you make during pregnancy can “turn genes on or off.” Through nutrition, clean environments, and emotional balance, you can literally program your baby’s health from the inside out.

Registered dietitian
Brigid Titgemeier emphasizes balance over perfection: “It’s not about eating more, it’s about eating better.” Focus on steady blood sugar, quality protein, colorful plants, and healthy fats to nourish both mother and baby.

Kelly LeVeque, holistic nutritionist and author, echoes this approach: “Eating for two doesn’t mean eating double, it means doubling down on nutrient density.”

Family physician
Dr. Max Goldstein adds that movement and sunlight are medicine. “You’re not sick because you’re pregnant,” he says. “Your body was built for this.”

Pregnancy isn’t just about growing a baby, it’s about growing into the parent you’re meant to become.

Postpartum: Healing, rebuilding, and reconnecting

Birth is not the end of the story, it’s the start of a powerful new chapter.

Nutritionist
Kelly LeVeque calls the postpartum period “a time when your body rebuilds from the inside out.” She encourages new moms to prioritize protein, aiming for about one gram per pound of ideal body weight to support recovery, milk supply, and blood-sugar stability.

Dr. Max Goldstein
refers to the first three months after birth as “the fourth trimester.” Babies are still adjusting to life outside the womb, and so are parents. “Swaddling, sound, and gentle movement recreate the safety of the womb,” he says. “It’s how we help babies feel secure while we heal.”

And when exhaustion or overwhelm sets in,
Lillian Cohanzad reminds new mothers to practice self-compassion: “Loving thoughts toward yourself regulate your physiology,” she says. “You can’t pour from an empty cup, but even noticing that is a form of love.”

The message is clear: postpartum isn’t just about physical recovery, it’s about rebuilding your energy, identity, and community.
