WeNatal For Him clinical study: What a 3 month study found about male fertility, energy, libido, and reproductive wellness
For far too long, fertility has been framed as a women’s health issue, even though male factors contribute up to half of fertility challenges. At WeNatal, we believe preconception health belongs to both partners, and that men deserve the same level of proactive, research backed support that women are often encouraged to seek.
That belief is one of the reasons WeNatal For Him was created. This men’s prenatal supplement was designed to support sperm health during the roughly 3 month sperm development cycle, while also supporting broader markers of male vitality, reproductive wellness, energy, libido, mood, and overall well-being. The formula was developed with antioxidant and nutrient support for key male fertility factors such as sperm count, motility, and morphology.
Because we believe so strongly in what we created, we wanted to test it. We partnered with Citruslabs to conduct a clinical study so we could better understand how men experience WeNatal For Him over time and share those findings transparently. This 3-month study offers early insight into how daily use of WeNatal For Him may relate to changes in male fertility-related parameters and how men feel during consistent supplementation.
What was the WeNatal for Him clinical study?
The WeNatal For Him clinical study was a 3-month, single-group study conducted by Citruslabs to evaluate the effects of daily supplementation on markers associated with male fertility and vitality. Forty male participants aged 30 and older were recruited, and each participant took three capsules of WeNatal For Him once daily for the duration of the study.
Participants completed questionnaires at baseline, Month 1, Month 2, and Month 3. Blood testing and semen analysis were completed at baseline and again at the end of the study.
The study assessed three categories of outcomes:
- Self-reported measures related to energy, libido, sexual function, mood, stress, and reproductive health
- Blood biomarkers including vitamin D, testosterone, free testosterone, CRP, and homocysteine
- Semen parameters including volume, concentration, count, motility, total motile count, and morphology
Because sperm development takes approximately 3 months, this timeframe allows researchers to observe changes across one full sperm cycle, while still recognizing that male fertility is influenced by many factors including sleep, stress, nutrition, exercise, toxin burden, metabolic health, alcohol use, and environmental exposures.
Key finding: 8 of 9 male fertility-related and vitality-related parameters improved by Month 3
By Month 3, eight of the nine evaluated male fertility related parameters showed statistically significant improvements from baseline in this single-group study. These included sex drive, energy levels, libido, satisfaction with sex life, satisfaction with reproductive health, frequency of being able to get an erection during sexual activity, ease of maintaining an erection through completion of intercourse, and muscular strength or endurance.
The largest improvement was seen in satisfaction with sex life, which increased by 46.54% from baseline. Other notable changes included:
- Libido increased by 41.43%
- Sex drive increased by 33.15%
- Energy levels increased by 30.96%
- Ability to maintain an erection through intercourse increased by 30.15%
- Frequency of erections during sexual activity increased by 28.24%
These results were statistically significant, meaning the result is unlikely to be random chance and would likely be reproduced with similar results if the study were repeated.
These findings are meaningful because many men who are trying to conceive are not only thinking about sperm health in a lab report. Many men are also navigating how they feel day to day in terms of energy, confidence, libido, and overall sense of vitality during a time that can be emotionally and physically demanding for couples trying to conceive.
Improvements were seen as early as Month 1
One of the most encouraging parts of the study was that several improvements were observed early. By Month 1, six of the nine evaluated parameters had already significantly improved from baseline, including energy levels, libido, satisfaction with sex life, frequency of being able to get an erection during sexual activity, ease of maintaining an erection through completion of intercourse, and muscular strength or endurance.
The most notable Month 1 change was a 28.38% increase in energy levels.
This matters because consistency is one of the most important parts of any preconception routine. When men feel an improvement in energy, mood, libido, or overall well-being, they may be more likely to keep taking a supplement consistently, which is especially relevant during the 3 month sperm development cycle.
What participants reported after 3 months
The study also captured participant’s perception data, which helps translate the numbers into lived experience.
By Month 3:
- 51.43% reported improved energy
- 54.29% reported improved libido and sexual arousal
- 57.14% reported improved mood
- 65.71% reported improved mood and overall well-being
Participant satisfaction was also notable:
- 65.71% said they would continue using the product
- 57.14% said they would recommend it to a friend or family member
Improvements in several self-reported outcomes including energy, libido, mood, and sexual satisfaction showed a clear upward trend over the 3-month period, with the most robust responses generally observed by Month 3. These patterns suggest that continued, consistent daily use may be associated with progressively greater perceived benefits over time.
For anyone navigating fertility, those “how I feel” outcomes are not small. Trying to conceive can be stressful, and men are often left with fewer tools, fewer conversations, and fewer resources than women. A supplement that supports reproductive health while also helping men feel more energized, more connected to their libido, and more supported in their mood may make the preconception season feel more collaborative and less one-sided.

What the study found about blood and semen biomarkers
While the questionnaire based fertility and vitality parameters showed statistically significant improvements, the study did not find statistically significant changes in the measured blood biomarkers or semen biomarkers within the 3-month study period. Blood biomarkers included vitamin D, vitamin D-2, vitamin D-3, free testosterone, testosterone, C-reactive protein, and homocysteine. Semen measures included calculated total motile count, sample volume, concentration, motility, morphology, and count.
This is an important distinction. The study showed meaningful improvements in several male fertility related and vitality related parameters, but it did not show statistically significant changes in the objective semen analysis or blood marker outcomes over the 3 month period. That does not mean the results are not useful, and should be considered along with other diet and lifestyle interventions to support male fertility.
It is also worth noting that semen parameters can be highly variable between samples, and male fertility outcomes can be influenced by many lifestyle and environmental factors that were not controlled for in this study.
Why lifestyle still matters for male fertility
The WeNatal For Him study did not include lifestyle interventions, which is important because factors such as sleep quality, nutrient density, protein intake, blood sugar balance, alcohol use, smoking or vaping, sauna and heat exposure, toxin exposure, body composition, stress, and exercise can all influence male fertility and sperm health.
In real-world settings, the strongest outcomes often come from combining targeted supplementation with a fertility-supportive lifestyle. That might include prioritizing protein and antioxidant rich foods, eating more colorful plants, reducing alcohol, improving sleep, strength training, walking regularly, minimizing endocrine disrupting chemicals where possible, supporting metabolic health, and creating a lower stress daily rhythm.
This is also why WeNatal’s approach matters. The goal is not to suggest that one supplement can do everything. The goal is to support men with a strong nutritional foundation while helping couples understand that male fertility is dynamic, modifiable, and worthy of attention.
Why WeNatal For Him was designed around the 3 month sperm development cycle
WeNatal For Him was designed as a targeted daily supplement to support sperm health during the critical 3 month sperm development cycle. The formula is a science-backed blend of antioxidants and essential nutrients intended to support key male fertility factors such as sperm count, motility, and morphology, while remaining free from artificial fillers, binders, or additives.
WeNatal For Him includes ingredients that have been studied for their role in male reproductive health, oxidative stress, mitochondrial energy, and nutrient status. The formula includes CoQ10, acetyl L-carnitine, vitamin D, and alpha lipoic acid for male fertility support, including their relationships to oxidative stress, sperm development, sperm motility, sperm morphology, testosterone pathways, and overall reproductive function.
This ingredient strategy reflects a simple but often overlooked truth: sperm health is not isolated from overall health. Sperm development depends on cellular energy, antioxidant protection, hormone signaling, inflammation balance, nutrient sufficiency, and the body’s ability to handle daily stressors.
Study limitations: How to interpret the results
The results of the WeNatal For Him clinical study are promising, and they should be interpreted with the study design in mind. This was a small study with 40 male participants, and 35 participants completed the Month 3 questionnaire analysis, while semen sample sizes were smaller for some endline measures. The study was also single-group, which means it did not include a placebo group or control group for comparison.
Because of this the study cannot fully separate the effects of the product from other factors, including expectation, natural variation over time, regression to the mean, or untracked personal behavior changes.
The study also did not include lifestyle interventions. This is not necessarily a weakness, but it is important context. If participants had also received structured support around nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, alcohol reduction, toxin reduction, or metabolic health, the results may have looked different, and potentially more impactful.
What makes this study meaningful?
Even with these limitations, this study represents an important step forward in bringing men into the fertility conversation. Men are often told to provide a semen sample only after months or years of trying to conceive, yet their nutrient status, oxidative stress levels, sleep habits, metabolic health, libido, and vitality all matter long before a couple reaches that point.
The WeNatal For Him clinical study found significant improvements in several parameters that matter to men and couples, including libido, energy, sexual health, satisfaction with reproductive health, muscular strength or endurance, and mood related perceptions. The findings also reinforce the importance of studying men’s prenatal supplements in real people.
For couples trying to conceive, this is a meaningful shift. Fertility is not just her cycle, her labs, her supplements, or her stress. Fertility is shared biology, shared responsibility, and ideally, shared support.
